- Use Ozempic® exactly as your health care provider tells you to.

Your health care provider will make sure you are on the right dose. The beginning dose is 0.25 mg for the first 4 weeks. This will give your body a chance to get used to the medicine. On Week 5 the dose should be increased to 0.5 mg. If, after at least 4 weeks, additional blood sugar control is needed, a 1 mg pen is also available.
The most common side effects of Ozempic® may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach (abdominal) pain, and constipation.
