Common side effects
The most common side effects of Ozempic® pill may include:
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Stomach (abdominal) pain
Decreased appetite
Diarrhea
Constipation

Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea are most common when first starting Ozempic® pill and when your dose increases.
In studies, gastrointestinal side effects were more common in people taking semaglutide tablets than in people taking placebo, and people taking semaglutide tablets were more likely to stop treatment because of these side effects. Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may cause a loss of fluids (dehydration), which may cause kidney problems. It is important for you to drink fluids to help reduce your chance of dehydration. Tell your health care professional right away if you have nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea that does not go away.
Talk to your health care professional about any side effect that bothers you or does not go away. These are not all the possible side effects of Ozempic® pill.
General tips for managing nausea
Some people may experience nausea while starting Ozempic® pill or increasing their dose. If you experience nausea, here are some general nausea tips that you might find helpful:
Eat bland, low-fat foods, like crackers, toast, and rice.
This diet isn’t meant to last more than a couple of days.
Eat foods that contain water, like soups and gelatin.
Avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.
Avoid lying down after you eat.
Go outdoors for fresh air.
Eat more slowly.
Drink cold water.
