What Is Ozempic®?

Ozempic® can help you get back in your type 2 diabetes zone

If you’re not reaching your blood sugar goals, once-weekly, non-insulin Ozempic® may help.

Ozempic® is for adults with type 2 diabetes used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar and lower A1C. It also lowers the risk of major cardiovascular (CV) events such as heart attack, stroke, or death in adults also with known heart disease.

Reaching your A1C goal with Ozempic®

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends that a reasonable goal for most adults with type 2 diabetes is an A1C less than 7%. Your health care provider will tell you what goal is right for you.

A majority of adults taking Ozempic® reached an A1C under 7% and maintained it.ª

In a one-year study, adults who reached an A1C less than 7% with an average starting A1C of 8.1%:

  • 66% of people taking 0.5 mg Ozempic®
  • 73% of people taking 1 mg Ozempic®
  • 40% of people taking 100 mg Januvia®

Ozempic® is a medicine for adults with type 2 diabetes that, along with diet and exercise, may improve blood sugar. While not for weight loss, Ozempic® may help you lose some weight.

  • 9 pounds on 0.5 mg Ozempic®
